organ blackjack
HEY I SHOULD TELL YOU THIS GAME IS IN, LIKE, VERY EARLY DEVELOPMENT. BUGS ARE NOT BUT TO BE EXPECTED AND VISUALS/GAMEPLAY IS NOT FINAL. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS GAME EXPECTING A FINAL OR EVEN NICE-LOOKING PRODUCT YET.

(but donate to me if you feel like it xx thanks)

sorry for screaming.

organ blackjack

the game where if you run out of money, you can simply sell your thyroid!

we've all been there right? you want to keep gambling, but you only have two dollars? well that's not true! you have, like, thirty organs that are all susceptible for selling on online marketplaces! who doesn't love a bit of organ selling?

so how do you play, bucko?

you will start the game with $1000. your goal is to always stay above $0. if you ever start a day with $0 or less, you will die immediately (which will hurt). you simply bet your money and start playing blackjack. you also have a minimum bet that slowly goes up as the game goes.

(note: you may think that you can only bet up to your current balance, but you're actually able to bet more. loanable money is gained by winning at blackjack. the max you can bet at anytime is either your balance + loanable money or the minimum bet; whichever's higher)

i hope you know how to play blackjack. if you don't, search it up i am not telling you.

if you in need of some extra cash, you can sell your organs. be warned though, the second you sell any organ you will immediately gain organ decay. organ decay will slowly kill you roughly every half-day. sell organs responsibly.

when you are in the sell organ screen, it will show you three randomly chosen organs to sell. some organs are worth more than others, physically and financially. i should also tell you if your money is in the red

as the game goes on and the minimum bet rises, the higher the worth of your organs (for whatever reason, i'm not sure yet). don't sell too early now!

IMPORTANT INFO

as godot doesn't have the best graphics on the web, this game is best enjoyed as a standalone. however, there is some important info for each platform:

for mac/ios players

the process of making a mac/ios game is very lengthy. as this game is still a prototype, I am not bothered. play in browser.

for windows players

you may see a screen saying "windows protected your pc". that is because i do not have a license. they're very expensive.

if you still want to play anyways, simply press "more info" and "run anyaways".

for linux players

the game is untested on linux, since i do not have one. you can tell me if you run into any problems, but i sure can't fix them.

hopefully it does work though. if it doesn't, web should work fine

for android players:

okay there's nothing in particular. just download the apk and you'll be good to go.

cool thanks bye.

love blackjack. however why is the loading taking so long 🫤

i have noticed that... what platform/browser are you using? i've seen it runs better on standalone.

Uhh I think I played in browser. I'm not sure what would be so demanding in order for it to take so long. Maybe chrome is the issue or some extension.

is it alright if I ask you three questions?

1. when you say loading, are you referring to the loading screen before the game starts or the loading screen you see that says "the game is now loading"? as in, did you press the button "singleplayer?"
2. did it hang at 0% for a while?
3. did it eventually load?

thanks in advance ãƒ»v・

Sure.

1. Initial load & After dying and clicking "restart". However today it feels faster than before.

2. Yes, it stays at 0% the entire time. It might be because the loading bar is on a separate thread and Chrome does not support that? I heard they removed it on the latest Godot version 4.3 because of browser's support drop after the CPU vulnerabilities or something.

3. Yes, it loads after a while. Feel like it takes too long for a game of this scale.

wow, thanks for the feedback! this game runs on godot 4.2, and apparently there's a problem with the resource loader returning 0% no matter what, so that's a slight problem. it is loading within that time.

for the long loading times, it may be because of the sheer amount of songs that this game has. oops. maybe i should optimise that. that problem will probably only get worse with time.

neverthenotheless, thank you for answering my questions! i'll see what i can do to improve this game! ãƒ»â››ãƒ»
